The ground on which rests the wheel is flesh-colored. This tells us that this wheel is the wheel of life with its highs and its lows.
It is driven by three characters who are subject to the illusions of appearances. We can see that each character have been drawn with a physical defect. One of them is deaf, his ears have a bandage. Another is dumb, the shape of his mouth not allowing him to speak. The last is blind.
